  • Exploration Summer Programs creates a dynamic environment of intellectual inquiry, responsible decision making and spirited adventure. Led by enthusiastic teachers, our students are encouraged to respect the differences that make us individuals and to find the common ground that makes us a community. At its heart, Exploration inspires students to challenge themselves, discover the world of people and ideas, and experience the joy of learning.
  • For almost 30 years, Exploration Summer Programs has been the international leader in academic summer enrichment. We believe that summer is the perfect time for young people to expand their horizons, try something new, and learn in a pressure-free environment. Our Programs feature ungraded courses, activities, athletics, and trips, all geared towards helping students discover themselves and the joy of learning.
  • The activities, trips, and special events that make up Exploration have a function similar to MIT’s Independent Activities Period (IAP). For one month between fall and spring semesters, the MIT community takes a break from its regular course schedule and participates in a variety of structured activities, including how-to sessions, forums, lecture series, films, tours, recitals, and contests. Like the IAP, Exploration gives our students a fun and educational release from the pressures and rigors of the academic school year, and allows our students to try their hands at a variety of new activities and ideas.
  • Exploration offers high school students the opportunity to live and learn in a diverse and vibrant international community. At the Senior Program, you can explore the breadth of a liberal arts curriculum while you are still in high school, travel to New York City and throughout the Northeast, prepare for college, get involved in extracurriculars and athletics, and have a blast while doing it all.
