School Notes:

  • Since 1983, ARCC has been offering adventures for teenagers. And we’re exploring new opportunities for you all the time. That’s why we are considered the true industry leader. This shows up most dramatically in our safety measures and in the cutting-edge adventures we design with you in mind, year after year.
  • It is ARCC’s goal for you to realize how working as a team can make reaching goals easier. While ARCC’s philosophy is to spend as much time “doing” as possible, sometimes coexisting with other individuals over a two to six week period can be as challenging as SCUBA diving to 60 feet or rafting in whitewater. On an ARCC adventure, you will learn the value of sharing responsibility, encouraging your team members and finding what each person does well and then moving forward as a team. ARCC’s small group size means you receive individualized attention while at the same time being an active participant in group decisions. Through the supportive environment we create, you will experience tremendous personal growth. While on an ARCC adventure, you will become proficient in a variety of new skills. More importantly, you will leave us with intangible rewards: feelings of accomplishment, maturity, and self-reliance.
  • We have found that leadership has many faces. A shy student can shine in a leadership role just as well as an outgoing one. On an ARCC adventure, you have many opportunities to ease into leadership, whether by planning the day’s meals, encouraging your peers, or rousing the group for a peak ascent. ARCC’s philosophy is to cultivate great leaders and encourage peer support and teamwork.
  • In Alaska, savor the sight of the Wrangell Mountains reaching skyward, caribou in their natural habitat, and untouched wilderness stretching for hundreds of miles. Feel the exhilaration of running a 14-mile whitewater rapid, paddling near an orca, or following a river to its source. Experience the thrill of climbing a shimmering ice wall, hiking on an ancient glacier, or camping beneath the midnight sun. Trek through a kaleidoscope of wildflowers, and sea kayak to the far reaches of the unequaled Prince William Sound. For a journey beyond the extraordinary, Alaska still triumphs as the last frontier.
  • Backpack the Wrangell St. Elias Range Ice Climb the Root Glacier Sea Kayak Prince William Sound Raft the Mighty Talkeetna River Backpack in Mount McKinley's Shadow
