School Notes:
- The underlying philosophy at Med-O-Lark encourages self-expression and is especially appropriate for young people ready to try to learn something new like water skiing, acting, cooking, fencing, throwing a pot, sailing, etc. Evening programs are unique at this camp with its creative theme. Many campers end up being presenters or performers or leaders as they express themselves and share their skills.
- Med-O-Lark has the largest offerings of workshops in the fine arts and handcrafts of any camp among the many New England camps. The courses in performing arts (dance and theatre) also provide many opportunities for shows and presentations at the end of every two weeks. Additional arts available at camp include culinary arts, martial arts, fencing, English riding, choral music, guitar, poetry, writing, and creative photography. There are many typical camp programs beyond the arts . . . a great waterfront with all levels of water skiing on 4 ski boats, sailing, and sea kayaking, plus lots more.
- The Med-O-Lark Program is all elective, meaning campers choose their activities. None are mandatory except when a parent may request swim lessons or music lessons, etc. There are five classes per day that offer educational substance and depth over an eight day sequence which allows campers to sign up for ten courses (from over fifty choices) while at Med-O-lark for one month.
