  • Camp Shane weight loss camps is a beautiful place, surrounded by lush countryside and rolling green hills. The camp is full of things to do including aerobics and Tae Bo classes, all sorts of sports, swimming and boating, weight training, dance classes, theater, arts and crafts and a lot more.
  • A separate program for young women aged 17-25 run separately from the younger campers. You have a weekly schedule consisting of the most popular activities, however, you have significant input in choosing your daily schedule. This program is an affordable alternative to more expensive spas that typically accommodate older adults.
  • We provide portion-controlled meals that are healthy and tasty. Sometimes we eat in our dining room and sometimes we have cook-outs. You’ll never be bored. We also serve 2 snacks every day like popcorn, fresh fruit, pretzels and ices. And for vegetarians, we have a complete, terrific menu just for you.
  • We’ll teach you how to get in control and stay in control in our basic nutrition classes and cooking classes. The facts might surprise you. Our nutrition workbook helps you throughout your time at camp and when you get home. Nutrition and cooking classes and rap sessions help teach you about eating in the real world which is an uncontrolled environment that sometimes gets out of control. We’ll give you the tools for losing weight and how to continue the program after you return home.
  • Written by the Camp Shane Nutrition Staff, we send this booklet home for the entire family to use. It reviews what we learned in camp nutrition classes; a broad foundation of nutrition knowledge with emphasis on weight control. The book includes Dieting Guidlines, Food Pyramid explanation, Food Labels, Health Snack Ideas, Cooking and Dining Out and Fitness Information.
