School Notes:
- Carolina Master Scholars at the University of South Carolina offers scholastically challenging youth programs, known as the AdventureSeries, for academically talented students who are rising 6 th through 12th graders.
- The series provides a comprehensive educational experience that exceeds and complements what students are learning in school. It enhances students' traditional classroom experiences by providing outstanding hands-on learning activities, and increases college marketability for those who participate.
- In conjunction with the Office of the Provost, Adventure Series courses are taught by prominent USC faculty throughout the summer, and use state-of-the-art teaching methods and hands-on learning to provide comprehensive educational experiences. The curriculum complements and exceeds what the students are exposed to in standard middle school and high school courses – and prove that USC is where learning and fun meet!
- After classes are over each day, students who select the resident or day+evening option have fun at the movies, a games park, or barbequing with their new classmates and counselors.
- In conjunction with the Office of the Provost, the Office of Academic Enrichment and Conferences awards the Carolina Master Scholar certificate to students who complete three or more of the AdventureSeries programs. With the Carolina Master Scholar designation, a student receives special admission tracking to USC, special alumni recognition, and may be eligible for extracurricular or portfolio credit during the academic year.
