- Camp Green Cove is a traditional, but unique summer program for girls age 6 to 17. Located in the Mountains of Western North Carolina, we emphasize outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, mountain biking, rock climbing, and horseback riding. We believe in fun, adventure, safety, and great instruction.
- Our program is non-competitive, which encourages experimentation, and non-regimented, which fosters self-direction. Our strengths lie in the quality of our staff and the depth of our program. We value diversity, attracting campers from all 50 states and even a few foreign countries.
- Just like in-camp activities, there are beginner trips and there are advanced trips, so everyone gets to experience overnight camping. Each camper's personal interests will influence just how much of her session is spent out on trips. On the next page, called Activities, we'll tell you about something about the activities themselves as well as give you a picture of what camp life is like. On the page called Activity Trips, we'll show you the tripping program.
- Our program at Green Cove centers around activities that take place on the water, in the woods, and on horseback. On the water side, we do a lot with swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing. In the woods, we travel by foot and mountain bike — we also love to rock climb. The riding program has always been very popular. There's also a tennis program, a nature program, and of course, crafts. Age is not a requirement for any activity or trip. Each camper progresses at her own rate, participating in the activities that she finds most stimulating, and is not tied to a cabin or age group.
