School Notes:

  • As a college-preparatory boarding and day school, Cheshire Academy encourages high academic achievement through rigorous curricular demands for each student while facilitating intellectual, social, physical, and moral growth and responsibility in a culturally diverse, family environment
  • Cheshire Academy offers fourteen Advanced Placement courses, twenty Honors level courses, and sixty-eight College Prep courses in addition to Academic Support, English as a Second Language, and Postgraduate courses. Our classes reflect the range of abilities and experiences among Cheshire’s students. The breadth of our academic offerings enables us to design an appropriately challenging course of study for each of our students while our structured, caring environment helps our students realize their true potential. An enthusiastic, realistic, and caring approach is applied to everything we do – from classes and sports to arts and dorm life.
  • The five-week English as a Second Language Summer Program is an integral part of the school’s overall ESL program. Four hours of daily classroom instruction are followed by afternoon activities, field trips, and weekend excursions.
  • This program helps students improve their academic skills, independence, self-confidence, and achievement in a classroom setting. Students develop healthy habits and strategies that support learning and have direct bearing on their success in all academic disciplines. Students will be placed in the appropriate level of the program after taking diagnostic tests to assess their verbal and study skills.
